Mission to Mars takes inspiration from NASA's Artemis campaign which is currently building the skill and technology required to build the first Lunar space station and eventually journey to Mars. 

Mission to Mars focuses on the human endeavour of space travel. 

Humans have not yet ventured far from the safety of our warm stable Earth home.

Living on the moon will be difficult -  add to this the dangers of time, distance gravity and radiation and the challenge becomes almost impossible.
